LAA realizes training in the INTEGRATED FRUIT-GROWING

The Latvian Fruit-Growing Association announces an application for training in Integrated Fruit-Growing. The training will focus on practical activities, as well as a practice trip abroad. The training is free of charge and is funded by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development. The procedure for the training is regulated by the Cabinet of Ministers Regulations No. 705 from 08/12/2015. More information in projects website here.

The following courses will be taught:

  • 1st course. Integrated fruit growing and agricultural production for fruit planting (including market-oriented quality and sustainable production) (for beginners)
  • 2nd course. Integrated fruit growing and agricultural production for berry plantations (including marketable quality and sustainable production) (for beginners)
  • 3rd course. Integrated fruit growing and agricultural production prospects, but currently unfamiliar fruit crops (including market-oriented high-quality and sustainable production) (for beginners)
  • 4th course. Integrated fruit-growing and agricultural production (including market-oriented production of high-quality and sustainable products) (experienced farmers)

Training is divided into 2 years – 2017. And 2018 Training will take place in 5 agricultural planning regions of Latvia – Latgale, Vidzeme, Pieriga, Zemgale and Kurzeme.

In 2017, the following courses will be trained:

1st course Integrated fruit growing and agricultural production for fruit planting (beginners)

The total duration of the training for the 1st year is 32 hours.

Training will take place according to the following schedule:

  • AprilMay – 1 day;
  • June – 1 day (June is expected to be June 5th);
  • August – 1 day (mid-August or second half expected);
  • Beginning of September – 3 day practice trip abroad;
